Do you have a blog of your own? Want to be added to our ‘Local Blogs’ blogroll? Great! We love knowing that there are writers all over this rock, leaving a bit of themselves behind as they get out, explore, and discover the ins and outs (and ups and downs) of this island life.
Whether it’s a link to your family or personal blog or even a blog attached to your business’ website, if you write, we’ll read (or at least point people in your direction).
Here’s the catch:
- You have to live on Okinawa or be on your way here. Because, well, you know.
- You need to post on a regular basis. We’re all busy; we get that. We’ve been there. Life acts up and blogs are neglected. No big deal, really. But if you haven’t posted anything in at least six months we’ll have to remove you from the list. Just keeping it current and all.
- No links to blogs with adult content will be added. Because OkiHai is an informational community for kids of all ages, we’re not going to send our younger readers somewhere meant for adult eyes only.
If that sounds good to you, send us an email with your blog’s address and the title you’d like displayed. We’ll check it out and add it right in.
Happy blogging!
Don’t have a blog but want to start one? You can begin right here by heading over to our sister site, Okinawa Hai Society. Joining the community and creating a blog with built-in readers is a great way to get connected to others on Okinawa.
Other popular blogging platforms that might be a better option if you’re looking for a wider audience include: Blogger, WordPress, Typepad, and Tumblr. Some are free, some are for-fee; most are quick and easy to set up and get going.
