Wagging Tail l Okinawa Hai!

Being an owner of two schnauzers, I am used to getting them groomed every six to eight weeks. I have tried a couple of different groomers on-island since we moved here in June of 2012, and I have even gone so far as to home-groom them a couple of times. Since home-grooming is back breaking and time consuming, I decided to give Wagging Tail a try based on a recommendation by a really good friend. Both my husband and I were really impressed and pleased with the results.

Normally getting an appointment can take weeks with other groomers, but we were able to get our dogs in for a Saturday appointment within a week. The fee for grooming our schnauzers was 4,500 yen each, which is a lot cheaper than other groomers we have used on-island. Plus, if you pay by yen you save 10% off the cost. As an additional bonus, if you have a dog that requires frequent grooming, every six weeks or less, they offer a Special Discount Card that can save you 20% on your second visit.

Wagging Tail l Okinawa Hai!For our visit we dropped our dogs, Miaka and Malfoy, off at 10:00 a.m. when they opened and picked them up right at 1:00 p.m. This was the fastest grooming appointment I have ever experienced. To top it all off, our dogs looked amazing and they were actually happy when we left. The ladies working were very helpful and extremely nice. After the amazing service I received, I will definitely be going back to Wagging Tail for all our future grooming needs.

  1. I needed an appointment for my miniature poodle ASAP. I called at 0830 and they got him in at 0930!! Great customer service! If their grooming is just as great as their customer service; they’ll have a new customer for the remainder of our time on island! =)

  2. I was initially worried about calling because there hadn’t been any active posts on here or on there facebook page so I was worried they weren’t open for business anymore. I went here today after making a phone call yesterday and was able to get a 1030 appointment for my two small dogs. They spoke very good english and they did an amazing job with the doggies! I loved that since there wasn’t anyone in the waiting area they let my dogs come to me instead of leashing them up. Made it so that I wasn’t stressed trying to hold, pay, and get out of there. lol Very reasonably priced, they even got little flower pony tails!

  3. When is this place open? I’ve been by a couple of times, most recently today at 2:30pm, but the storefront shown in the picture always seems to be closed. As near as I can tell, their website doesn’t mention what hours or days they’re open, which makes it hard to swing by to set up an appointment.

    • I gave up trying to go in person first, and instead called ahead to attempt to schedule something in my clumsy Japanese. Turns out they speak very good English, so it was quite easy. My dogs shed a lot and have really stubborn undercoats, but Wagging Tail did a great job clearing out the dead fur, and both of my girls look great. Even more surprising, my normally shy dogs seemed to take to the people there right away, so I’ll definitely be using this place again. 🙂

  4. I’ve been taking my 2 pups here since we got them in 2009. The owner Saori and her wonderful staff are like family. The dogs know exactly what to do when they get there and the staff knows what they need done. They are great groomers and people.
