There have been many posts on here that mention Capital Steakhouse, but no post on Capital Steakhouse; I am here to fix that! Capital steakhouse has been my favorite restaurant on Okinawa since the first time my family and I went to this YUMMY location!

Capital steakhouse serves teppanyaki and sushi, all that is VERY good and inexpensive for the quality. The food is quick, and the people are friendly.

When you get there you will be seated at a teppanyaki table, you have a choice of teppanyaki, sushi, or both. The teppanyaki meal sets come with a delicious mushroom/potato soup (this is my favorite part), the regular cabbage salad that can be found anywhere on island with your choice of dressing, and either an iced tea or iced coffee.

You can choose beef, chicken, lobster, shrimp, or all. The meals come with the meat of choice, either bread or rice, bean sprouts with green beans and potatoes with onions.

I have had the sushi here before and it is good. Not as good as the just-sushi joints around the island, but the fish is still very fresh and tasty. They serve traditional Japanese sushi rolls, plus the Americanized ones like California roll and shrimp tempura.
They also have a nice assortment of appetizers!

  1. Disappointing!! Vegetables and salads are not fresh. Ventilation is not good. Molds on walls. Steak chicken and shrimp combination is not fresh. Thes sauces they used are blant in flavor. Terrible experience.

  2. We just got back from Capital, and I have to say that I’m not impressed. I’d pay the extra money for Sam’s or Four Seasons (in that order) for better food quality, environment, and entertainment by the chef (again, in that order). I haven’t been to Jack’s, so I don’t have a comparison there.

  3. The food was not too bad. I’ve had better and I’ve had worse. I liked my chicken and 1/2 lobster although my chicken tasted slightly undercooked and the lobster was a small quantity. My husband really enjoyed the steak. When they ask “rice or bread”, remember to ask for garlic rice. It’s delicious! Also, they accept Visa and MasterCard.

  4. Overall, the food here is pretty good. Four seasons and Sam’s Anchor Inn has it beat, but I think Capital was a bit less expensive. I do like the old school vibe in this place and drinks were cheap. Although, they cook everything in a ton of butter, more than the other teppanyaki places we’ve been too. We’ll be back to eat here again.

  5. The WORST food ever! Not only is the inside of the restaurant covered in at least an inch of dust, most things are broken or falling apart. Our dinner included both chicken and shrimp, rice, veggies, and a drink. The chicken is covered in a nasty bbq sauce, the shrimp tasted like shoes, and the rest of the junk they serve wasn’t worth the 1700 yen we paid per meal. This has to be the WORST place we have eaten since we’ve been on island (1.5 years) and I will tell anyone that I can NOT to go here, EVER!

Jack’s Place is 100 times better and cheaper AND you get great service, which we didn’t get at Capital.

  6. This is not the best on island in my opinion. There are so many better esp. Jacks place on base, and I like Four Seasons a lot better. I went to the one on 23. Its a decent price for what all you get, I just liked Four Seasons a lot better, and so did my parents when they came! We go to Jacks place a lot more than either one of these.

  7. I agree with Tito. The tepanyaki at Capital and Four Seasons is nothing to write home about. However, as long as Jack’s Place continues to serve customers the most bland tepanyaki food on the island, both restaurants are safe.

  8. Thank goodness both Capital and Four Season’s have Jack’s Place here on island…that way they can’t ever be considered worst teppanyaki in Okinawa…otherwise, they would both put up quite the fight. “nough said!

  9. We originally had a bad opinion of Capital’s off 75 when we first went, but we braved it and decided to go back again to try it out. The 2nd time it was really good. Granted, the building itself isn’t that nice, but the food was better to me than at Four Season’s. I think their food has more flavor and I prefer their sides over Four Season’s. To each their own, but I prefer Capital’s. 🙂

  10. I ate at the one by Courtney and it was pretty bad. I had heard Capital was better than Four Seasons so I was pretty excited to try it out finally, but all of my experiences at Four Seasons were 10 times better than my experience at Capital. Maybe the other one is better, but this one was not very good. I ordered the chicken (that’s what I always get at Four Seasons too) and to me it really didn’t have a good flavor at all. And my husband got seafood wasn’t that great either. The potatoes and onions are way better at Four Seasons. Also, there was a fan on the wall near our table, it was off, and it was covered in mold! :-/ For the price you pay there I just expected it to be a little nicer. If I was paying 800Yen per person I wouldn’t complain. I would have been more satisfied eating at Dragons Chinese place right down the road. Sorry for the negative review– like I said this is JUST MY OPINION… just like how I like places that other’s have a bad opinion of. 🙂
