I received a question from a reader regarding Driver’s Ed.
“My husband and I were in Oki from 2003-2006. Back then, the Driver’s Ed Class was only a day long. We had heard a rumor, shortly before PCSing that they were going to extend the class to a full week. We are now trying to get back to Okinawa and are doing the prep work, just wanted to see if that rumor is true!”

But if anyone could give us some detailed information about getting their first driver’s license on Okinawa, we’d love to hear about it! And I don’t mean the few hour long class/video with quick quiz at the end. I mean the real deal driver’s ed course. (Useful information might include: Are the driving school’s hours flexible? How long is it? And how much does it cost?”)
