A brand new rock climbing gym opened up on June 5th, 2016 in Ginowan that is just a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the Camp Foster commissary gate.
Inside you will find kids play area, restrooms, and a changing room. Not only does this place have a great climbing wall, but there are pull up bars, a climbing rope, gymnastic rings and kettlebells for use.
If you are an experienced climber or new to rock climbing then come on out to Koru Piki for a day full of challenging routes that will help improve your strength, endurance, and self-confidence.
As a beginner myself, the staff explained how to read the different routes on the wall and even demonstrated proper holds. Each area of the wall is designed to increase in difficulty, now lace up, chalk up and get up.
They currently have climbing shoes for rent ranging from size 4 – 12. Climbing shoes are recommended but you can wear any type of indoor shoe you want there.
